I've been prescribed Cholestyramine 4gm Packets 60s to manage my high cholesterol levels. This drug binds to bile acids in your gut, preventing them from being reused, which forces the liver to make new bile acids using cholesterol, thus lowering cholesterol levels overall. It's been a few weeks now, and I've noticed some side effects and improvements. Anyone else on this medication? Let's discuss our experiences and tips for managing side effects! This is a great community for sharing knowledge and advice. I found the constipation to be quite uncomfortable, but increasing my fiber intake and water consumption made a big difference. I want to hear about what side effects you’ve noticed and how you're coping.

I’ve been on this for a bit, but I didn’t realize it could cause bruising. I guess I need to be more aware of that side effect. Thanks for the heads-up!

Remember everyone, if you have any serious side effects, like severe constipation or unexplained bruising, get to a doctor ASAP. Safety first!

Does anyone know if Cholestyramine is safe for long-term use? I’ve been on it for a year and my doctor hasn’t mentioned any issues, but I’m curious about the long-term effects. It sounds like I just need to stay informed and proactive, but I would like to be more prepared.

I've found that mixing it with a bit of juice helps with the taste. Not a giant fan of the chalky texture though.

This drug has been a game-changer for my cholesterol levels. I've seen a noticeable improvement in my blood tests. Just remember to stay hydrated and keep moving – it makes a world of difference! I'm on the side effects list in my medication packet, but I just take a quick look at the list if I feel any discomfort and I know I'm in the clear. I highly recommend it!

I’m on it but I am not happy about the taste. It’s like chalk and it can be a drag to take

I switched to a different cholesterol medication because of the side effects. It was just too much for me to handle. I was not feeling good, but given how effective it was for some people, I'm glad it works for you.
