I've been taking Cholestyramine Powder for a few months now to manage my high cholesterol, and it's been a bit of a journey. It's worked well in lowering my LDL, but the side effects have been challenging, especially the constipation. I've tried increasing my fiber intake and drinking more water, which has helped a bit, but it's still a struggle. Has anyone else found effective ways to manage these side effects? I'm also curious about how others have experienced the itch relief benefits. I have one person who said it relieved itching from their liver condition, but I haven't really seen this benefit yet. I'd love to hear from others who are on this medication, and how it compares to other cholesterol-lowering treatments they’ve tried in the past. Also, I’d appreciate any insights on the allergic reactions and other serious side effects—how common are these, and what should I really watch out for? Finally, I’ve heard the FDA has a reporting system for side effects—I wonder how many people actually use it?

Seriously, the constipation is the worst. I've started a strict fiber regimen—I make shakes with psyllium husk powder and it's working well. It's definitely a life-saver.

I’ve tried Cholestyramine and had some severe allergic symptoms. It was a bit scary; I had a rash and hives. I switched to a different medication at my doctor's recommendation. If you experience any of these, do not wait—seek medical help right away.

It’s such an inconvenience to have to mix it every time, but worth it. Also, if you’re having trouble with the constipation, long-term use of laxatives can be tough on your system. I’ve found that taking a probiotic has helped with the gut issues.

Hugely helpful for my cholesterol levels, but I had to be super careful with the dosages. I did a lot of research and worked closely with my doctor to figure out the right amount. It’s a bit of a balancing act, but worth it for the benefits.

I've had really good luck with Cholestyramine for my bile acid issues. I didn't have any really nasty side effects, but I did notice some gas and bloating. It's not too bad compared to other meds I've tried, though.
