I've been prescribed Clobetasol 0.05% Emollient Foam for my psoriasis and eczema. It's supposed to be really strong, but I'm a bit nervous about the side effects. Has anyone else used this? How effective is it? Are the side effects as bad as they sound? Any tips or experiences would be greatly appreciated!

I heard it can thin your skin if you use it for too long. Is that true? I'm worried about that happening.

I wish I could use it forever, but the side effects are no joke. I had to stop because my skin became too thin. Best to use it for short periods.

You should definitely talk to your dermatologist about it. They can give you specific instructions and monitor your progress. Also, I've had good experiences with the foam. It's easy to apply and doesn't leave a greasy feeling like some other topicals.

Make sure you avoid using it on your face or sensitive areas. I got some nasty irritation when I accidentally applied it to my eyelid. Luckily, it cleared up without any issues. Just be really cautious where you put it. Don't overuse it even if things seem to be getting better. After finishing up my course, my spots came back almost immediately when I stopped using it.

I switched to a gentler steroid after a few months because I noticed some thinning of the skin under my eyes. I could see some veins that were not visible before. But my insurance does not cover the Clobetasol, so it was a balance of cost and effectiveness.

It can be scary to use such a strong steroid, but I'll say it works well. I've been using it for about a month now, and it's really helped with my psoriasis flare-ups. Just make sure you don't overuse it and follow your doctor's instructions carefully. Also be sure to moisturize daily after washing the area to cut down on minor issues.

I've been using it for years and never had any serious side effects. Just make sure you don't overuse it and follow the instructions.

This stuff is a lifesaver for my eczema. It's a bit pricey, but worth it for the relief. I used it for a few weeks and my skin is finally clearing up. Just be mindful of the side effects. The warnings are there for a reason. I noticed some dryness, but nothing too bad. I also noticed some flare-ups when I stopped using it.
