Coartem 20-120mg Tablets: Essential Facts and Experiences Regarding Malaria Treatment
I was recently prescribed Coartem 20-120mg Tablets for malaria treatment. The doctor emphasized the importance of taking it with food for optimal effectiveness. However, I'm a bit concerned about the side effects, especially the serious ones like abnormal heartbeat and allergic reactions which could be life-threatening! I’ve read the leaflet but wanted to hear from others who have taken this medication. How did you manage the side effects? Were there any tips or tricks that made taking Coartem easier?

I had a pretty rough experience with Coartem. The side effects were manageable, but I did experience some dizziness and a bit of an upset stomach. That said, I think my doctor had given me a lot of water and suggested I eat at least a meal before taking the medicine, and it really helped. Also, a very important measure for me was to keep hydrated.
I would recommend doing some research of your own. I think the best tip is, keeping yourself hydrated and taking it with food for sure makes it way easier.
I took Coartem a few years ago and experienced some pretty severe headache and some joint pain. It wasn't fun, but I know it worked and I didn't get malaria. As long as you follow your doctor's orders, you should be fine.
Coartem worked wonders for me. I was really worried about contracting malaria while I was in Africa, but taking Coartem right after I started feeling sick saved me from the worst symptoms. The side effects were minimal, just some mild dizziness and fatigue. I just took it easy while on medication.
I was fortunate to not have any serious side effects. The most noticeable ones were headaches and a bit of muscular pain, but nothing too bad. Definitely follow your doctor's advice and avoid alcohol during treatment. I'm glad they tell you to take it with food—it really helps with the stomach issues!
I wasn't thrilled about the idea of taking Coartem because of the long list of side effects, but I didn't have any major issues. I did get a bit of a rash, but it went away after a few days. My doctor advised me to stay hydrated and eat smaller, more frequent meals, which seemed to help.
