Cyproheptadine 2mg/5ml Syrup: My Experience and What I've Learned
I recently started using Cyproheptadine 2mg/5ml Syrup for my allergies and have noticed a significant improvement in my symptoms. However, I've also experienced some unusual drowsiness and a bit of a dry mouth. I've read that these are common side effects, but I'm curious if anyone else has had similar experiences? Additionally, I've heard it can help with weight gain. Has anyone used Cyproheptadine for that purpose, and if so, what was your experience?
I've been taking it for about a week now, and while I've noticed some benefits, I'm still worried about the potential side effects. I know it's rare, but the thought of experiencing severe reactions like hallucinations or seizures is scary. Has anyone had to deal with anything like that?
I've also found it interesting how this drug can be used for both allergies and appetite increase. It seems like a versatile medication, but I'm wondering if there are any downsides to using it for both purposes. For example, are there any long-term effects I should be aware of?
Lastly, I'd love to know what others think about reporting side effects to the FDA. It seems like a straightforward process, but has anyone actually done it? Was it worthwhile?

I took this for a while when I was trying to gain weight after an illness. It worked, but I felt so tired all the time. Not sure it was worth it.
I’ve been on it for a few months now, and while it helps with my allergies, the increased appetite is a bit too much. I’m gaining weight faster than I expected.
I used Cyproheptadine for weight gain and it worked wonders. I gained 10 pounds in a month. It made me sleepy, but I dealt with it.
I’ve had a great experience with this drug. No side effects, and my allergies are under control. If you’re considering it, I’d say go for it.
I had some hallucinations while on this med. It was horrible, and I had to stop taking it.
I’ve been taking Cyproheptadine for my seasonal allergies, and it’s been a lifesaver. No side effects so far, but I do make sure to stay hydrated to avoid a dry mouth. Definitely worth a try if you’re struggling with allergies.
How long did it take for you to see improvements in your allergies? I’m on day 3 and not feeling much better yet.
I tried reporting a side effect to the FDA, and it was surprisingly easy. It took about 10 minutes and I felt better knowing I was doing something to help others.
Be very careful with this stuff. I had a bad reaction and ended up in the ER. It was scary, but I’m ok now.
