I recently started taking Descovy 200mg/25mg Tabs for HIV prevention (PrEP). I've heard a lot about the side effects, both minor and serious, but I wanted to know if anyone else has experienced the same issues. I've had some stomach discomfort and diarrhea, but I'm not sure if it's worth mentioning to my doctor or if it's just a normal adjustment period. Has anyone else had similar issues, and if so, what did you do to manage them? Also, I'm curious about the more serious side effects. How common are they really, and what should I be on the lookout for? Any advice or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Side effects can really vary from person to person. Some people might not experience any, while others can have a rough time. If you're seeing anything serious like trouble breathing, stop taking the meds and get help. Also, you should be aware that Descovy can cause lactic acidosis, which is a serious condition, so if you feel extremely tired or weak, contact your doctor immediately.

I've been on Descovy for a few months now, and the side effects have been manageable. I did experience some upset stomach at first, but it went away after a week or so. Just make sure to take it with food and you should be fine.

I had some really bad diarrhea when I first started taking Descovy. It was so severe, I thought it was from a food-related illness. I called the doctor and they said it's a common side effect. I drank electrolyte drinks and took the meds with food, this helped a lot.

I've been on Descovy for a year now, and honestly, the side effects were worse at first but they did go away. I remember having trouble sleeping and feeling really nauseous. But my doctor told me that these were common and would subside. He also told me to be on the lookout for any signs of liver problems, as Descovy can affect the liver.
