I started taking Doxepin and experienced some weight gain and hair loss. My doctor switched me to a lower dose, and it helped with the side effects while still managing my symptoms. It's definitely worth discussing with your doctor if you experience any issues.
I had a really bad allergic reaction to Doxepin. Itching, swelling, the whole works. I ended up in the ER, and they switched me to a different medication. If you experience any of those symptoms, don't mess around—go to the hospital.
Doxepin really helped me with my insomnia, but it made me so drowsy during the day that I had trouble functioning. I found that taking a lower dose in the morning and a higher dose at night worked better for me. Experiment with different doses if you can, under medical supervision, of course.
