I was prescribed Drospire/eth Estr/lev Tabs as my birth control method after my doctor recommended it for its combined hormonal birth control properties along with a dose of folic acid, which is great if I were to become pregnant. The folic acid component is a huge plus, as it helps reduce birth defects. However, I'm a bit worried about the possible side effects, especially the severe ones mentioned. Has anyone else had experience with this medication? What were the side effects like and how were they managed?

I had to stop taking these because they made me feel like I was constantly bloated, and I didn’t even have PMS or anything. The bloating was just constant, which is really annoying and hard to deal with in daily life. Not sure if it’s just me, though, or if anyone else went through it.

I’ve never heard of a birth control pill with folic acid in it. I thought you had to take those separately. But this is a great combo. I just hope that it works out and doesn’t cause any issues.

I'm glad I found this thread. I was prescribed these pills and was really nervous. I've had spotting and some mild cramps, but nothing too bad. The folic acid is a big bonus for me. Just keep an eye on things, I guess. I hope these work out!

Do these pills really get rid of your period entirely? I’m not a fan of the monthly cramps, but skipping periods sounds scary. What’s it like on these drugs?

I read that the folic acid in the Drospire/eth Estr/lev Tabs is the same as folic acid in prenatal vitamins. So if you’re planning ahead and planning on getting pregnant, you might be doubly protected. Just checked with a pharmacist to stay on the safe side. It’s a win-win.

I just started taking Drospire/eth Estr/lev Tabs. I was really worried about the serious side effects, but my doctor helped me understand that it's rare, and emphasized the benefits. I'm only a few weeks in, hoping everything goes smoothly. The folic acid is a real plus, but I really wish these companies could make the medication in a lower dosage or something to keep us feeling healthier.

I've been on various birth control pills for years, and this one has been the best so far. No side effects to report, and I've even noticed a small improvement in my mood. The peace of mind from the folic acid is a huge bonus. Good luck to everyone trying it out!

I started taking these a few months ago, and while I didn't have any issues initially, I've started to notice some changes in mood and appetite. I've been eating more than usual, which is weird. Did anyone else have this issue? And how did you handle it?

I've been on Drospire/eth Estr/lev Tabs for about six months now, and I must say, the combination is great. I was concerned about the potential side effects, but I've only experienced some mild headaches and occasional spotting. The folic acid is a great touch, especially if you're trying to conceive in the future. My doctor assured me that the risks are low, and I trust their judgment.

I actually had to switch off Drospire/eth Estr/lev Tabs. I started experiencing severe headaches and dizziness. Turns out, it was a reaction to the progestin and estrogen, my doctor said. I had to switch to a lower-dose version that also contains folic acid. It's been much better ever since. But pay attention to your body, some folks might be more sensitive.
