I was recently prescribed Dutasteride/tamsulosin 0.5-0.4mg CP for BPH. The combination of dutasteride and tamsulosin seems to be helping with my symptoms, but I've been experiencing some side effects. Has anyone else had issues with sexual side effects like decreased libido or difficulty maintaining an erection? Are these side effects likely to go away? How long did it take for them to subside? Additionally, I've heard about the potential for priapism. Has anyone experienced this, and if so, what was it like? I want to be prepared in case something serious happens. I've been on this meds for a while now and I've found that the side effects are manageable. I had a bit of a runny nose and some dizziness at first, but it all cleared up within a few weeks. Stick with it, man.
I’m sorry you're dealing with this. I’ve been prescribed other meds in the past for similar issues and they made my life a living hell.
Priapism is no joke. I’ve heard stories from guys who waited too long and ended up with permanent issues. Better safe than sorry.
I had a really bad experience with priapism. It was terrifying, and I had to go to the emergency room. They had to treat it with medication, and it was a pretty intense experience. If you ever feel that painful erection, go to the ER immediately. It’s not worth waiting.
I've been on this combination for a year, and I've had no problems at all. Makes me wonder if my BPH is actually benign or not. Hopefully, you have a speedy recovery! Keep us updated.
I’ve been on this medication for about 6 months now. The sexual side effects were rough at first, but they’ve gotten better. It took about 3 months for my libido to return to normal. Just hang in there.
