Hello everyone, I was recently admitted to the ICU and received a Dopamine/D5W 0.8mg/ml Inj, 250ml IV infusion to stabilize my blood pressure. The doctors said it's common, but I'm worried about the side effects. I've been experiencing some dizziness and a mild headache, but I'm not sure if these are serious. Has anyone else had experience with this medication? The information sheet mentioned urgent side effects too, so I'm a bit anxious. Any insights, personal experiences, or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Be cautious, but remember that dopamine is often used in critical situations. The severe side effects are rare, so try not to panic. Just keep an eye out for any changes in your skin, particularly if it turns black or purple. That could indicate a problem.

Just make sure to report any side effects to the FDA. If anyone else is watching, they can help you by reporting side effects to 1-800-332-1088 or online at https://www.fda.gov/medwatch. Also, I had some crazy goosebumps while on it. Not fun.

Dopamine is great for shock, but the side effects are no joke. I'm a nurse and I've seen it all. If you experience any of the urgent side effects, don't wait—get help right away. I can't stress that enough. This stuff is a lifesaver but it can also be a game-changer in a bad way.

I've seen a lot of patients on this drug. Just remember that it's a powerful vasopressor, so it can have some serious effects. But as long as you're monitored closely, you should be okay.

I had a similar experience and thought I was dying. Turns out it was just the medicine. But seriously, any changes in your heartbeat, especially if it's irregular, should be brought to your doctor's attention immediately. That could be a sign of something more serious.

I think you're right to be worried, but I'm sure your doctors are on top of it. Mine keep a close eye on me whenever I get this drug, and they tell me it's not uncommon to feel a bit off.
