Has anyone else been prescribed Ezetimibe/simvastatin 10-20mg Tabs for high cholesterol? I've been on it for a few months, and I'm curious about others' experiences with this medication. I've experienced some muscle tenderness, but my doctor says it's common and to keep monitoring it. I'm also wondering about the long-term effects and if anyone has switched to a different cholesterol medication. What are your thoughts or experiences?

I noticed some digestive issues at first, but they went away after a couple of weeks. Just make sure you're drinking enough water and eating right.

Ezetimibe/simvastatin works really well if you have very high cholesterol. I used this for a year. My cholesterol dropped from over 300 to just 200. In the end, I had to stop because of side effects. I kind of wish I hadn't. I had to switch to another drug, and it took a while to get my cholesterol up. Ezetimibe/simvastatin is really effective, but it's not for everyone.

I had some allergic reactions like hives and itching. It's scary, man. I got switched and feel a lot better now.

Mixed experience here. At first it was ok, then I had some severe muscle pain and had to stop. Anyone else experience this? What did you do?

I started feeling weird muscle pains and my doctor switched me to another statin. It was worth it; the muscle pains went away.

I'm wondering if anyone has had issues with getting insurance to cover this. It's pretty expensive out of pocket.

I think muscle pain is a big deal. If it's really bothering you, don't brush it off. Talk to your doctor ASAP. It could be something serious.

I was on this for a while and it helped my cholesterol a lot, but I switched to a plant sterol supplement to make the cholesterol go down. I felt better after the switch. I guess it's easier to take and it's not a pill. It's pulp that I add to my smoothies.

I've been taking it for a while and it's been fine. No side effects at all. But I also watch my diet and exercise regularly, which might help.
