First Time in NYC: Must-See Attractions and Hidden Gems
I'm planning my first trip to New York City and I'm overwhelmed by the number of things to do. I know the usual suspects like the Statue of Liberty, Times Square, and Central Park are must-sees, but I'm also interested in some hidden gems and local favorites. I've heard great things about places like the High Line, the Cloisters, and some amazing food spots in Brooklyn. How do I balance the tourist attractions with the local experiences? What are some must-try foods and unique activities? Any tips for navigating the city would be greatly appreciated!

Don't sleep on the Tenement Museum! It's a hidden gem in the Lower East Side that gives you a real taste of NYC history. And for food, you can't miss Katz's Deli in the Lower East Side.
You have to go to the Met and the Museum of Modern Art. I could spend hours in each and still not see everything but both are a must.
I agree with the Tenement Museum. I went last year and it was amazing. And if you like pizza, try Lombardi's in Little Italy.
Central park is a must, especially if you get there in the morning and do some kayaking. I love the Central Park Zoo, too.
If you want to go to the Cloisters, make sure and go in the morning. It's very peaceful and less crowded.
I second the 9/11 Memorial. It's powerful and moving.
What about the 9/11 Memorial and Museum? It's a somber experience, but an important part of the city's history.
Hey all, what about the Grand Central Terminal? It's so beautiful and historic. Plus, the food court is amazing!
