I've been prescribed Flucytosine 250mg Capsules to treat a serious fungal infection, and I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects. The pamphlet lists a ton of scary possibilities, from allergic reactions to kidney problems, and it's hard not to worry. I've read that it's often used with amphotericin B to make it more effective, but I'm unsure if that combination will increase the side effects. Has anyone else taken this medication? What was your experience like? What side effects did you encounter, and how did you manage them? I'd love to hear from anyone who has some insights or advice. Let's share our stories and support each other through this!

Flucytosine literally saved my life when I had a Cryptococcal meningitis infection. I took it with amphotericin B and it worked wonders. Yes, it had side effects, but I was fighting for my life. It's a tough drug but it does the job

I took Flucytosine a few years ago for a severe yeast infection. The worst side effect I experienced was severe stomach pain and nausea. I had to take it with food and stay hydrated. My doctor also monitored my liver function since liver problems are a serious risk. It was tough, but it worked, and my infection cleared up.

I've been lucky so far with just some nausea and fatigue.

I had a really bad time with Flucytosine. Kidney issues and hallucinations. It was a bad call, but the doctor thought it was the best course of action. This stuff is tough, take it slow.

Be careful with this one, it caused me to feel dizzy and weak. I had to stop working out until I recovered. It's a powerful drug, no doubt, but the side effects are not to be understated.

I had a friend who took Flucytosine and ended up in the hospital with kidney problems. It's scary stuff, so definitely stay in close contact with your doctor and keep an eye out for those symptoms.

Flucytosine saved my life when I had a cryptococcal meningitis infection. It was a long battle, and I did experience some side effects like dizziness and headaches, but nothing too severe. I took it with amB and it worked wonders. Stay positive and keep in touch with your doctor!

I'm on Flucytosine right now, and so far, I've had some fatigue and a mild headache, the usual side effects it seems. Nothing too bad. I'm just taking it easy and resting as much as I can.
