I've been using Fluorouracil 5% Solution 10ml for the past month to treat actinic keratosis on my face. The side effects have been intense—burning, redness, and some pain—but my doctor assured me it's normal. I've been religiously applying sunscreen and avoiding the sun as much as possible. Has anyone else used this treatment, and how did you manage the side effects? I'm curious to hear about other people's experiences. Additionally I would like to know if anyone has used this treatment for cancer and how effective has this treatment been? Finally, how long did your treatment last? Did you apply the solution once or twice a day?

I'm on week three and it's finally starting to get bearable. Sticking with it – it's got to be worth it right? Stay strong everyone!

I had a really bad reaction to this stuff—swelling and blisters. Had to stop using it after a week. My doctor switched me to something else.

I had to apply it twice a day for a full month. It is annoying, but it's better than dealing with cancer. I would go for the spf 100 sunscreen. I had a seious reaction when I had to go outside without it.

My friend used this and said it was like having a perpetual sunburn. But it did the job. Just be prepared for some serious discomfort.

If you're going through this, invest in some good painkillers. Ibuprofen was my best friend during this time. Try to stay hydrated as well.

I used this for superficial basal cell carcinoma. It worked well, but the recovery was tough. Lots of scarring, but at least the cancer is gone. Make sure to follow your doctor's instructions to the letter.

Just started my second week. It's brutal, but I'm sticking with it. The redness is so bad, but I have to keep going. I am so glad I have an understanding boss so I can work from home for a while. I wish you the best of luck. I think that the treatment takes a while to complete, but it's worth it in the end.
