I've heard about a new chewable birth control pill called Galbriela FE, which not only helps prevent pregnancy but also includes iron to prevent iron deficiency. Has anyone tried this? I'm curious about how it differs from traditional pills and if the chewable format is actually convenient in practice. I've also seen some scary side effects listed, including blood clots and liver problems. Are these side effects really common, or is this just standard scary pharmaceutical warning language? Is the iron content worth it, or should I just take an iron pill separately? I'm thinking about switching from my current pill, which I hate because of how hard it is to swallow, but I don't want to make things worse by dealing with unwanted side effects. I would love to hear real experiences and the ins and outs of this new pill.

I've gained weight on every single birth control pill I've ever taken. It's annoying and frustrating. But I don't know if it's the pill or just aging and my metabolism changing. Anyone else had weight gain issues?

I've been on the pill for years and I've never had any issues with spotting or bleeding. I think it may be that I've been lucky and I've found the pill that works for me, or the brand of pill I've been using. It's hard to tell. But I think it's worth trying out a few different ones to see which one works for you.

I've had some really bad experiences with birth control pills in the past, but I think it's worth trying out a few different ones to see which one works for you. I think the most important thing is to be aware of the side effects and to know when to call your doctor or go to the hospital. You should look into other types of birth control as well, like an IUD or a hormonal implant. Some of them are pretty amazing and can actually be a net positive for your body and your health.

I was thinking about switching to Galbriela FE, but the side effects list is terrifying. Blood clots, liver problems, who needs that? And having to take it every day is a bummer. I can't juggle too much on a plate, but I've been using a period tracker app which lets me keep track of everything with my partner and it takes this worry away. You should look into it, it's a real time saver,

I don't know why anyone would call this a 'novel' contracpetive, it's just like all the others but with a cool chewy format. It's still a pill, it still has the same risks and side effects. and it still doesn't prevent STIs which is a little disappointing tbh. If you're worried about getting pregnant and getting an STI, you should definitely go the depo route.

I switched to Galbriela FE and I really like it. The chewable format is convenient, and I actually look forward to taking it because it's not so scary anymore. But you should be aware of the iron content. I didn't need it (I was taking iron separately), and it caused some constipation, but I assume if I didn't need it I probably shouldn't have been taking it. Anyway, it's worth it to me for the convenience.
