I've been prescribed Gentle Laxative 10mg Supp 12's (Bisacodyl) and I'm a bit nervous about using them. I've heard they work fast, but I'm worried about the side effects, especially the allergic reactions. Has anyone had experience with these? I'd love to hear about your experiences, good or bad. Also, any tips on how to use them properly would be greatly appreciated!

I got terrible stomach cramps the first time I used them. I'm not sure if it was because I didn't use them correctly or if it's just a side effect. I ended up sticking to a high-fiber diet instead.

I'm glad I found this thread. I've been prescribed these and I'm going to follow your advice to ask for alternatives. I'd rather not risk an allergic reaction. But I am wondering what brands of bisacodyl are better than others, and why would that matter?

I've used these before and they worked like a charm! Just make sure to follow the instructions carefully.

I used them once and never again. The burning sensation was too much for me. I'd rather deal with the discomfort of constipation than go through that again. I know it's not a big deal for some people, but it really affected me, and I'd rather not have to deal with that again, folks.

I always thought suppositories were a bit extreme, but after trying a bunch of different things, I finally gave these a try. They work pretty well and are easy to use. No need to be nervous if you're prescribed these. They are pretty standard.

I've had issues with constipation in the past, but these have been a lifesaver. They're a bit uncomfortable to use, but they get the job done quickly and effectively. Follow the directions and you should be fine. Suppositories are serious business though.

If you're nervous, maybe talk to your doctor about other options. There are plenty of over-the-counter laxatives that might be gentler on your system.

I had a friend who had a similar experience. I think a lot of it depends on your body and how you react to the medication. I've never had any issues with them, but I know they can be rough on some people.

I had a really bad allergic reaction to these. Swelling of the face, trouble breathing — it was scary. If you experience any of those symptoms, go to the hospital immediately.
