I've been using Tazarotene 0.1% Cream for about a month now to treat my psoriasis, and while it seems to be working, the skin irritation I'm experiencing is quite intense. It's not exactly what I would've hoped for. Prior to this I was using other creams but was recommended Tazarotene. I've had burning, dry skin, itching, peeling, redness, and scaling. My skin feels so dry that it's peeling in some places. Is this normal, or should I be concerned and talk to my doctor? I've read that skin irritation is a common side effect, but I'm not sure if I should just tough it out or if there might be a different medication that could work better for me.

I have been using Tazarotene for a few years now. In the beginning, I experienced similar irritation. But after a while, the irritation subsided and my skin improved significantly. It's worth giving it some more time, and you might want to use a moisturizer or a unique cream to help soothe the irritation

My doctor recommended a gentle cleanser and moisturizer to use alongside the Tazarotene. It's been a game-changer.

I had a similar experience with mine. Stick with it, atleast give it 2 months before you switch

I switched to this cream and started with an application every third day and worked my way up to every other day, and then daily. If your skin feels irritated daily it may be too much too soon, I have found I have good results applying every three days and gradually increasing to daily as long as no irritation occurs
