I've been prescribed Hematex 100mg/5ml Liquid to treat my anemia, and while it seems to be helping with my iron levels, I've been experiencing severe constipation. Has anyone else had this issue? What did you do to manage it? The side effects list mentions constipation, but not many details on how to handle it. Thanks in advance for your advice!

I had a friend who had the same problem. She switched to a different brand and it helped a lot. Might be worth a shot!

I had to switch to a different iron supplement because of the constipation. If it's too much for you to manage, you might want to consider switching as well. You could also consider trying out iron rich foods rather than supplements. Your doctor can help you determine the best options. Don't hesitate to push for other solutions if the constipation is becoming unbearable.

I had a similar issue with constipation when I was on Hematex. I found that taking a probiotic supplement helped regulate my bowel movements. It might be worth a try, but definitely consult your doctor first. Also, consider increasing your physical activity if you can. Exercise can help stimulate bowel movements. I know it's tough when you're not feeling great, but even a short walk can make a difference. Just make sure to listen to your body and not overdo it.

I think you should contact your doctor about it. They might be able to adjust your dosage or suggest a stool softener. Also, make sure you're not taking it on an empty stomach.

Yeah, constipation is a bummer. Hang in there!
