I've been taking Antacid 500mg Chewable Tablets for a few weeks now to manage my acid reflux, and I've had a mix of experiences. Overall, they seem to help with the heartburn, but I've been curious about the potential side effects. The leaflet mentions some urgent side effects like allergic reactions, which is a bit worrying. I've also had some constipation, but I'm not sure if it's related to the medication. Has anyone else had similar experiences? What should I do if I start noticing any of the urgent side effects listed? Should I be concerned about the constipation? And how do I report side effects if I suspect they're from the medication? Any advice is appreciated!

I had a bad reaction to these tablets. I started getting hives and my throat felt tight. I had to go to the ER, and they told me it was an allergic reaction. If you experience anything like that, get to a doctor right away. Do not wait it out!

Constipation can be a side effect, but it's usually not too bad. Drink plenty of water and maybe up your fiber intake. If it gets worse, talk to your doctor. They might suggest a stool softener or something.

I've been taking these for years and never had any issues. Maybe it's just your body adjusting to the new medication.

Reporting side effects is important. The FDA needs that data to monitor the safety of medications. You can do it online or by phone. It’s quick and easy. 1-800-332-1088

I've heard that some people get stomach cramps from these. If you do, maybe try taking them with food or adjusting the dosage. But seriously, if you get hives or trouble breathing, get to a doctor ASAP!
