I was recently prescribed Levothyroxine 0.013mg (13mcg) Caps for hypothyroidism. Initially, it seemed to help with my fatigue and weight gain, but I've been experiencing some concerning side effects like severe headaches and rapid heart rate. I've done some research and found that these can be signs of high blood pressure, which is a serious side effect. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced similar issues and how they were able to manage them. Should I be concerned, or are these common symptoms that will go away with time?

I’ve had some issues with my medication, but not as bad as that. The fatigue and weight gain was so bad that my doctor doubled my dosage. If you're worried call your doc ASAP.

Seriously, if you experience muscle weakness and bone pain, get it checked. My thyroid ended up causing a lot of joint pain. But after I got my dosage right and started taking it consistently, the problems cleared up.

Do you have any other symptoms like irregular heartbeat, dizziness, or changes in eyesight? These could all be related to high blood pressure, which can be a serious side effect of Levothyroxine. Talk to your doctor ASAP to make sure you're not having a reaction to the medication.

I was getting really sick so I switched to a different medication. I cried in the car and then the nurse got mad. The minute I got home, I googled levothyroxine and was upset to see a bunch of side effects I had.

Definitely, check it out fast. I had an allergic reaction to another med and it was terrifying--I didn't want to take anything again. I had to go to the ER for shots to stop the rash and breathing issues.
