Has anyone experienced severe side effects from Retrovir (AZT) 300mg tablets?
I was prescribed Retrovir (AZT) 300mg tablets to manage my HIV infection. I've been taking them for a few weeks now, and while I haven't experienced any severe side effects yet, I'm curious to hear from others who have. I've read about the potential for serious issues like lactic acidosis and severe skin reactions, and while these are rare, it's still on my mind. I've been really focused on my diet and exercise to help manage any possible side effects. Has anyone else had similar concerns or experiences? How do you manage them? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I had a friend who had some really bad reactions to AZT. It's scary stuff, but as long as you're monitored closely by your doctor, you should be okay.
I think it's important to remember that everyone's body reacts differently to medication. What works for one person might not work for another. Just stay positive and keep an open line of communication with your healthcare team.
I've heard that some people experience muscle pain and weakness. Has anyone else dealt with this? How do you cope?
I had a bad rash a few months back, and it turned out to be an allergic reaction to the AZT. I switched to a different medication and have been fine since. It's scary, but it's important to be vigilant.
