Has anyone experienced severe side effects from Sodium Chloride 0.9% Injection (Sod Chloride 0.9% Excel Inj 250ml)?
I've been prescribed Sodium Chloride 0.9% Injection, often called 'normal saline' or 'salt water IV,' for fluid replacement. The doctor mentioned some serious side effects, but I'm hoping to hear from others who have used it. How common are the side effects like allergic reactions, fluid and electrolyte problems, or skin infections? Any tips on managing or avoiding these issues? Let's share our experiences and advice!

Make sure to stay hydrated before and after. It helped me avoid some of the more severe side effects.
I've seen some crazy things happen with IVs. Once, a patient had a fever and shortness of breath after. Scary stuff.
Side effects are rare, but if you feel something off, tell your doctor. They can adjust the dose or stop the infusion.
I had confusion and muscle pain. It was terrible. The doctor had to stop the IV, but everything went back to normal afterward.
Dry mouth and eyes are the worst. Drink lots of water and bring some lip balm!
