I was prescribed Tusnel C Syrup for my bad cough and cold symptoms. I've heard it contains a mix of guaifenesin, pseudoephedrine, and codeine, which sounds like a powerful combination. I've been taking it for a few days, but I'm starting to worry about the side effects. The leaflet mentions some serious symptoms like hallucinations, seizures, and even breathing problems. Has anyone else taken this and experienced anything scary? I'm feeling a bit dizzy and weak, but I'm not sure if that's normal. Any advice or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated! I just want to make sure I'm not overreacting, but also want to be safe.

I'm a nurse and I've seen people having serious reactions to this. If you feel really bad, go to the doctor right away.

My doctor mentioned that some people react differently to codeine. If you ever feel confused or start having mood swings, stop taking the syrup.

I'm having trouble breathing but I’m not sure if it is the medicine. I really don’t want to go to the emergency room. How can I tell if it’s serious?

I had a bad reaction to codeine once and it gave me hallucinations. I wouldn’t take anything with codeine in it again. Be very careful.

I took this with some of my meds and it gave me the worst headaches. I felt like my head was going to explode.

I was nervous about the codeine, but my doctor assured me it was fine for me to take. I had a bit of nervousness in the afternoon, but nothing too bad. Good thing you're asking about the stuff others have experienced!

I’m not sure why they mix all those things together. It’s always a bit scary to take something that has so many active ingredients. But then again, it helps me sleep through the night.
