I was recently prescribed Zestril 2.5mg tablets for high blood pressure and I'm curious to know if anyone else has had significant side effects with this medication. I know that severe reactions are rare but the list of potential symptoms is a bit worrisome. I'm particularly concerned about the signs of an allergic reaction, kidney problems, and high potassium levels. Has anyone else experienced these symptoms, or are most side effects mild? What should I watch out for, and when should I consult a doctor or seek medical attention? Also, I've read that a persistent cough is a side effect. Is there any way to mitigate this? What has been your experience?

I've heard that some people experience a metallic taste in their mouth. Anyone else?

Did your doctor mention any dietary restrictions while taking Zestril? I've read that certain foods can affect how the medication works.

Zestril saved my life. After my heart failure diagnosis, this medication has been a game-changer. I've had no side effects and I feel much better, even though I still have to watch what I eat. If you're worried, just talk to your doctor. They'll be able to give you more clarity.

I was terrified of the side effects, but I've been taking Zestril for over a year now and haven't had any issues. I think it's important to keep a close eye on any unusual symptoms and stay in touch with your doctor.

I switched from lisinopril to losartan because of a really bad cough. It took like 6 months for the cough to finally subside after I stopped taking it but eventually, it did go away.

I had a persistent cough that lasted for months. I had to switch to a different medication and the cough went away.

I've taken lisinopril for years and the side effects have been minimal, just a little lightheadedness now and then. It's different for everyone, though. I mean, I guess we can all hope for the best.

This is such a tough subject. I had kidney issues during the last month before I stopped taking it. I'm sad because I was doing better with my blood pressure.

I've been on Zestril for a few weeks and so far, so good. No major issues, just a bit of dizziness sometimes.
