I recently started Idamycin Pfs 10mg/10ml Inj, 10ml as part of my treatment for leukemia. The doctor described the medication as giving my body the tools to fight off cancer cells by halting their growth. I am curious to know what others have experienced, from adverse reactions to helpful tips on managing side effects. Any input or experiences would be greatly appreciated.

I was nervous about taking this medication, but my doctor assured me that the side effects are manageable. I've had some nausea and fatigue, but nothing too severe. Staying hydrated and resting has helped a lot.

I had Idamycin for my leukemia treatment and had quite a few side effects. I had nausea and hair loss but nothing that was too severe or unexpected. The worst part was the fatigue, it'd knock me out for days.

I'm glad to hear no severe side effects yet, OP. You should stock up on low-sodium broth for the nausea. I've heard peppermint tea can help too, with the added bonus of being soothing on the throat.

I experienced a lot of complications from sepsis and couldn't even swallow because my throat was so dry and irritated. My doctor ended up switching me to a different chemotherapy drug because mine was too harsh on my system. Best of luck to everyone in the same boat.

TRULY wish I'd researched the effects of chemotherapy before starting. I didn't realize you'd lose your eyelashes too. Makes it hard to look in the mirror. Not sure if that's a side effect of the medicine or just a stage of the process. It's like a winter storm in my ovaries.

I'm on my second round of Idamycin, and I've had some unusual skin changes. My dermatologist says it's a rare side effect and has been monitoring it closely. It's scary, but I'm reassured by the care I'm getting.
