I've been prescribed Potassium Chloride ER 8meq ER Tabs to manage my low potassium levels. I've read about the potential side effects, but I'm curious to know if anyone else has experienced them. The urgent side effects sound particularly alarming, so I'm hoping to hear some real-life experiences and advice. Does anyone have tips on how to manage the more common side effects like stomach pain or diarrhea? I've also heard about the wax matrix that might appear in your stool—is that something to worry about?

I've heard these can be hard on your stomach. Maybe try taking them with a full glass of water and see if that helps with the discomfort.

I had a weird experience with the wax matrix. I freaked out thinking something was seriously wrong, but my doctor assured me it was normal. Just make sure you stay hydrated and take the pills as directed. If you have any signs of an allergic reaction like rashes or swelling, get help immediately.

I took these for a while and switched to a potassium-rich diet. It didn't solve the problem completely, but it helped a lot. Bananas, spinach, and avocados are great sources of potassium. But always consult your doctor before making drastic changes.

Side effects are a bummer, but I've found that taking it at night before bed helps me manage the diarrhea better. Other than that, I haven't had any major issues. Hope this helps!

Make sure you're not taking these with any other medications that could interact badly. I had to stop taking a diuretic because it was making my potassium levels swing too much.

I have been taking these for months and haven't had any issues. Make sure you take them with food to avoid stomach upset.
