I've been using Cepacol Extra Strength Lozenges for a few days now to deal with a persistent sore throat. I've noticed some tingling in my mouth, but I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced more severe side effects like severe mouth pain. The packaging lists some serious warning signs, and I want to make sure I'm not missing anything crucial. Has anyone had any severe reactions or noticed anything unusual? Also, what should I do if I experience symptoms lasting more than two days? Thanks for sharing your experiences!

I had a bad reaction to it but I don’t remember what it was. I do remember it was a severe headache. It was my third time using it, and I’m 99% sure it was a reaction with a food I had before! But I don’t trust it anymore.

Anyone experience numbness from Cepacol? If the numbness is severe, don’t consume anything hot or cold, It can be dangerous and it should pass once the medication wears off.

I had a sore throat and the Lozenges worked great! But I do have a habit of using way too many, Whenever I feel a slight irritation in the throat, I just go straight to the Lozenges. It feels good, but... 99% sure it's a placebo effect.

I had a bad reaction to Cepacol once. I got this weird grayish discoloration around my lips and nails. I immediately went to the ER, and they said it was methemoglobinemia. Scary stuff, but it was rare. Stay cautious.

I switched from Cepacol to Halls and it’s been a game changer. Still need to see how the Lozenges compare long-term.

I once had a sore throat that lasted way longer than 2 days, and I kept using Cepacol. It turned out to be strep throat, and I had to get antibiotics. If your symptoms persist, they might be hiding a more serious condition. So get them checked!

I've had a couple of reactions from various numbing agents in the past. The tingling you mentioned is common and nothing to worry about unless there are other symptoms like swelling, or trouble breathing. If the symptoms are severe, go to the emergency room now.

I've used Cepacol before and never had any issues. The tingling is normal and should go away on its own, it is a known side effect. Just keep an eye on it.

I’ve been using these Lozenges since I was a kid. I’ve never had any serious side effects, and they always helped soothe my throat. But I’ve also never used them for more than a couple of days in a row. I know the warnings say stop after 2 days to check a doctor, so I do that.
