I've been prescribed Caspofungin 70mg for a serious fungal infection, and I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects. The injection seems straightforward, but the list of possible reactions is quite long. Has anyone here had experience with this medication? I'd love to hear about your experiences, especially regarding the more severe side effects like allergic reactions, liver problems, or low potassium levels. Did you notice any of the more common side effects like headaches or stomach issues? How did you manage them? Any tips or advice for someone who is about to start this treatment would be greatly appreciated!

I had a really rough go with this one. Seemed like Caspofungin really tough with my system. My doctor suggested Alternating with another Antifungal was better for me, after switching me to something else.

I had muscle weakness and cramps, which I assume were due to low potassium or magnesium levels, so it was a bit scary. The doctor monitored my levels closely and adjusted my diet and supplements to help with it. They prescribed a supplement for the potassium and magnesium levels. It was helpful to me.

I didn't have any severe side effects, but I did feel extremely tired and weak during the treatment. Make sure to rest a lot and listen to your body. It's tough, but you'll get through it.

I didn't have any side effects mentioned on the list, but I did get a really weird rash that I thought might be fungal, too. Turns out it was an allergic reaction to the tape used to secure the IV. Make sure all tape and bandages are hypoallergenic.

I’m on my third day of Caspofungin and I’ve had a bit of a cough and some shortness of breath. Should I be worried about these side effects? I'm not sure if it's related or if I just have a cold.

Caspofungin saved my life. I had a bad case of invasive aspergillosis and was in the hospital for weeks. The side effects were manageable, mainly some fatigue and muscle cramps, but the relief from the infection was worth it. Just make sure to monitor your liver function closely, as that's where the drug can hit hard.

I got some crazy hives from Caspofungin and had to stop taking it. I had to switch to a different antifungal. I’ve never had that kind of reaction before, so it was a shock. Be careful

I was on Caspofungin for a few weeks. The injection process was pretty smooth, but I did experience some headaches and mild stomach upset. Nothing too bad, though.

I had a really rough go with this one. I ended up in the ER with a severe skin reaction. It was terrifying. Turns out I have Stevens-Johnson syndrome, which is a severe skin reaction. If you start seeing blisters or red, swollen skin, go to the hospital right away.
