Gamifant (emapalumab) has been a lifesaver for my child who was diagnosed with HLH. I've seen the worst side effects listed, and it's scary. Has anyone else been through this? Did you experience any of the side effects mentioned, or maybe some not listed? How did you manage them? I'd love to hear from anyone with some experience with this drug. What's been your journey like?

This is so scary. I've heard about HLH. My friend's daughter was diagnosed, and it was a nightmare. I'm glad you're sharing your experience. Let's overcome this. Is there any support group we can join for HLH patients on Gamifant?

I've been on Gamifant for a few months now, and while it's been effective, I did experience some severe side effects. I had a really bad case of constipation and some muscle weakness, but overall, it's been manageable. I try to stay hydrated and eat foods rich in fiber to combat the constipation. It's a tough journey, but I believe Gamifant has given me a fighting chance.

Keep fighting. Best of luck to you and your family. HLH is a tough condition to deal with. I hope this helps you find some peace. Make sure to find support wherever you can. Having a support system really helps during these hard times.

This drug sounds terrifying. I can’t imagine dealing with the side effects let alone HLH. My heart goes out to anyone suffering from this. Side effects scares are real. Keep us updated on your journey. We are all cheering for you.

That’s a relief to hear. I’ll keep an eye out for any signs of those side effects. Sometimes the side effects for these drugs are worse than the disease. If they start, I'll definitely let the doctor know.

My sister was on Gamifant, and it was a rough journey. She had severe stomach issues but it worked. She had some really bad cramps and muscle spasms. She ended up using a heating pad to soothe the pain, but it got to the point where she was hospitalized for dehydration from the cramps. Ended up having to get IV fluids.
