I was recently prescribed Lorazepam 4mg/ml injection for severe anxiety. I have never used an injectable medication before and I am a bit nervous about the process. The doctor mentioned it will help calm my brain and nerves, but I am worried about the side effects. Has anyone had experience with this? What were the side effects like? Were they manageable? Any advice on how to handle the injection process would be greatly appreciated.

You will be okay, but please, please, PLEASE, make sure you have a ride home. It makes you VERY drowsy, so be careful.

I actually have the 4mg/ml injection at home for whenever I have an anxiety attack. I keep it in the fridge, and I use it twice a month. It's a godsend, but be very careful. I am always ready for severe side effects.

I've had it before for seizures. It works great, but man, the drowsiness hit me hard. Make sure you have someone to drive you around for a bit.

Lorazepam is a potent benzodiazepine. It can be very effective for anxiety and seizures. As a nurse, I've seen it work wonders, but also cause some severe side effects in sensitive patients. Definitely follow your doctor's advice closely, like always.

Have you thought about alternative treatments? Yoga or meditation might help with your anxiety. I know someone who had problems with medications and beating the anxiety was hard, but eventually, they learned to control it without meds. For me, the injection is a must if I am about to have a panic attack, but I used to have a big problem with anxiety and I have been fine without meds for a year now.

I had a friend who had a really bad allergic reaction to Lorazepam. He had hives and couldn't breathe. He had to go to the ER. Please be careful and make sure you're in a safe place when you take it.
