I was prescribed Tobramycin 1.2gm Inj, a powerful antibiotic used to treat serious bacterial infections. It's injected and used to treat infections in the lungs, blood, or urinary tract. I've been told it can have serious side effects, so my doctor is monitoring my blood levels and kidney function closely. I'm curious if anyone else has prescribed it and, if so, whether you experienced any of the serious side effects? How did you manage them if so? Also, how did you ensure proper and safe administration of the injection?

I always hate when meds have side effects worse than the disease. Stay strong and listen to your doctor. Keep us posted on how you feel.

I've had it before for a severe lung infection. It knocked out the bacteria but I felt really weak and had some trouble breathing. My doctor monitored me closely and adjusted the dosage. It was intense but I got through it.

A family friend had some serious hearing issues after taking Tobramycin. I hope your doctor is really vigilant about monitoring you.

I had to take this for a bad UTI. I was really worried about side effects, but other than some nausea and a bit of a headache, I was okay. My doctor kept an eye on my blood levels the whole time. Do you know how long you'll be on it?

Fun fact: Tobramycin is part of a class of antibiotics called aminoglycosides. They can be life-saving, but they're also pretty hard on the body. Good luck and take care of yourself.
