I've been using Banophen Cream for a few days to relieve itching and pain from some insect bites. I had read itching as a possible side effect, but I've also seen some severe allergic reactions listed. I'm curious if anyone has actually experienced these severe reactions or any other unusual symptoms. How do you know if it’s just a minor reaction or something more serious? I've been nervous because my bites seemed to get worse right after I applied it. Then again, maybe it just took longer to kick in. Has anyone had this problem? Any advice on what I should do?

I actually think it makes the itch worse for me... not sure why. I feel like it might be better to take oral antihistamines and let the skin heal on its own.

My mom used to put it on my bug bites as a kid and I never had an issue, but I have also noticed in the past couple of years that my skin has gotten more sensitive so I would use it with caution now.

I had a different cream that I hated, but I only used it once. I tried Banophen and it actually worked well. Make sure you apply it thin and apply it to the skin, not on any broken skin, that’s what I did wrong initially.

Did you try any other creams or ointments? Sometimes a different brand or type can make a big difference. I've had good luck with hydrocortisone cream in the past. Remember, any rash that doesn’t go away after a week or two should be checked out by a doctor.

I had a bad reaction to it once. My skin got really red and blotchy, and it felt like it was burning. I stopped using it immediately and it went away after a couple of days. Definitely worth keeping an eye on.

Yikes! Don't mess around with stuff like that. If you experience any of the severe symptoms, get to a doctor ASAP

I got hives from using it and my doctor said it was an allergic reaction. If you experience any severe symptoms like that, definitely stop using it and consult a healthcare provider. They can help determine if it’s an allergic reaction or something else.

Banophen has worked well for me in the past, but I did have skin irritation when I used it more than twice a day. I recommend using it sparingly and keeping an eye on any changes in your skin. If it gets worse, stop using it and see a doctor.
