I've been dealing with a persistent diabetic ulcer for months now, and my doctor recently prescribed Balsam Peru Castor Oil Ext Ointment. It's supposed to help heal wounds and protect the skin, but I'm curious to hear from others who have used it. How well does it work? What are your experiences with the side effects? Do you have any tips for application and wound care? I'm looking for any advice or personal stories that might help me manage this better. Thanks in advance!

I used it on a bad scrape and it really helped keep the wound moist. The stinging was a bit much, but it worked well and the healing was pretty quick.

I had no idea this stuff was a thing. Is it better than other ointments for diabetic ulcers?

My mom had to use it for a pressure sore from her wheelchair. It took a while to heal, but it did the trick. Be careful because it can get messy and you need to wash your hands a lot. Wrap it with gauze and change it regularly.

I had an allergic reaction to it and it got worse! Redness, swelling, and itching was no joke. Everyone's different, so take it slow if you haven't used it before.

I've been using it for a few weeks on a cut that wouldn't heal. It's healing but it takes a while to really see the change. It's worth it though.

I've used this ointment for my mom's bedsores, and it worked wonders! Make sure to clean the wound thoroughly before applying it, and keep it moist with a bandage. It helped heal the sores much faster than anything else we tried.

It stings like crazy when you first put it on, but it's worth it for the healing. Just be patient with it.

With this stuff, it’s crucial to know that everyone has different reactions. If you feel any severe skin irritation, stop and see a doctor ASAP! Allergic reactions can be scary.

I had a severe reaction when I used it, I had blisters and itching all over the area! I had to stop using it and my doctor switched me to something else.

I've been using it for about 2 weeks now, and I can already see some improvement. It makes the dry skin around the wound feel soft and it helps the wound not feel so tight.
