Has anyone had success with Colesevelam 3.75g Pak For Oral Susp for lowering cholesterol and managing type 2 diabetes?
I've recently been prescribed Colesevelam 3.75g Pak For Oral Susp to help lower my LDL cholesterol and manage my type 2 diabetes. I'm curious to know if anyone else has had experience with this medication. Are the side effects as harsh as they seem? How noticeable were the benefits? Did anyone see results for both LDL cholesterol and blood sugar control? Any tips on managing side effects like constipation or heartburn would be much appreciated. Also, how did you find mixing it into drinks or food? I'm trying to figure out the best way to incorporate it into my daily routine. Looking forward to hearing your experiences!

I've been on this for a while and it's been a mixed bag. The cholesterol numbers are better, but the constipation is brutal. I've had to start using stool softeners just to manage it. It's not great.
I switched to Colesevelam from another drug and am very pleased. My doc mentioned this medication seems to be more flexible with diet and it's really helped me. couldn't be happier. What a relief.
I've been on Colesevelam for a few months now and it's helped lower my cholesterol quite a bit. The constipation was a bit tough to deal with at first, but increasing my fiber intake and drinking more water helped a lot. It definitely takes some getting used to.
I have not seen any noticeable improvement in my blood sugar levels, but my cholesterol has definitely gone down. I mix it with apple juice to make it more bearable. Still, I can't shake the feeling that it doesn't really work for me.
Anyone else tried mixing it with something different than water? For me, it's not working well in a glass. I'm having trouble finding the best way to take it.
I switched to Colesevelam after my doctor mentioned it with my other meds. It mixes easily with water and I've not really noticed any side effects other than some mild constipation. It's worth seeing if your doctor can adjust the dose for you if it's too harsh.
