I've recently been prescribed Octreotide 100mcg Inj, 1ml to manage symptoms caused by a carcinoid tumor. I'm curious if anyone else has used this medication and can share their experiences. Specifically, I'd like to know how effective it was in controlling symptoms like severe diarrhea and flushing. Additionally, any insights on managing potential side effects, particularly the urgent ones like allergic reactions or signs of pancreatitis, would be greatly appreciated. I've read the list of possible side effects, but real-life experiences can be very different. How did you handle the injection process, and did you have any tips for minimizing discomfort at the injection site? Were there any unexpected benefits or drawbacks you encountered? Finally, if anyone has experience with long-term use, I'd love to hear about your journey and any advice you might have for someone just starting out.

I've been on Octreotide for a few months now, and while it's helped with my symptoms, I've also been dealing with some dizziness and fatigue. I'm hoping these side effects will subside over time. If not, I'll talk to my doctor about adjusting the dosage. Or maybe switching to a different medication.

Be prepared for some flu-like symptoms initially. They weren't horrible, just a bit unpleasant. Also, keep a close eye on your blood sugar levels. Mine fluctuated a lot at first, but my doctor helped me stabilize it. By the way, October is Carcinoid Awareness Month.

This medication saved my life. I was constantly sick with netting syndrome from carcinoid tumors and my symptoms were so severe. I felt like I had reached the end of my rope. But then my doctor prescribed Octreotide 100mcg Inj, 1ml, and it was like a miracle. I could finally go out in public without worrying about having an episode. Be sure to report any side effects to the FDA. Someone else's life could be saved because of it!.

I have been on this medication for a while, and aside from the usual injection site reactions, I haven't had any major issues. Just make sure to rotate your injection sites to avoid any significant discomfort or irritation.

Ugh, the injection sites can be a pain. Literally. I found that using a numbing cream before the injection really helped. Numbing cream is available in most Pharmacies.

I've been on Octreotide for about a year now, and it's been a game-changer for my symptoms. The diarrhea and flushing have significantly decreased, and my quality of life has improved. One thing I'd recommend is to talk to your doctor about possible symptoms like gallbladder problems, as I did develop them. My doctor had me on some medication to help with swallowing and pain management.

Octreotide helped me a lot, but I did have some nasty gallbladder problems. Get regular checkups and listen to your doctor's advice. Also, I noticed some hair loss, but it grew back once I adjusted the dosage.
