I was prescribed Nifedipine 30mg ER (cc) Tablets for high blood pressure and have been taking them for about a month. I've noticed some dizziness and flushing, which the doctor said are common, but I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced more unusual side effects. I want to know if I should talk to a doctor. Also, does anyone notice the tablet shell in your stool? Rather weird thing to be worried about! I've been nervous about this since I also need to take other medications and I'm not sure if this impacts my regular blood tests.

I agree with the previous comment. I had to switch to a different medication due to severe side effects. It's important to listen to your body and consult with a healthcare provider if you experience any serious symptoms.

I've heard that some people experience allergic reactions to Nifedipine. I'm lucky I don't get those but the doctor still warned me about them.

I take Nifedipine 30mg ER and have been seeing the tablet shell in my stool – is this normal? I feel weird looking for it every time I go to the bathroom.

I've found that taking Nifedipine in the evening helps me sleep better. Just curious, does anyone else get dizzy when standing up suddenly? It's like my blood pressure drops.

I've been on Nifedipine for a couple of years now, and the only side effects I've noticed are occasional flushing and fatigue. I just make sure to take it consistently and at the same time every day. It's a bit annoying, but it's worth it to keep my blood pressure under control. Wish there were other options but this is the big name in town.

Extended-release medications can be tricky. Make sure you're not crushing or chewing the tablets. Also, take them with or without food consistently, as that can affect absorption. I take mine every morning with breakfast, and it works well, so far.

The extended-release formula can cause issues if you suddenly stop taking it. Always consult with your doctor before making any changes to your medication. I used to forget to take mine and it'd take my body a while to recover.

I had to stop taking it because of severe constipation and chest pain. It was terrifying. I'm so glad I talked to my doctor. Turned out it was really hard on my system but I'm 20lbs lighter after switching to a better option.

I switch from Nifedipine to Lisinopril and now I feel like a new person. My doctor said some people just react better to one than the other. Just an option if you are struggling.

I got the tablet shells too. I called my pharmacist and they said it is a completely normal as it is created as Extended Release because your body doesn't completely break down.
