I recently started taking Potassium Citrate ER 1620mg (15meq) tablets to prevent kidney stones. The medication works by alkalizing the urine, but I am curious to know if anyone else has noticed anything unusual in their stool. Specifically, I was wondering if anyone else has seen the tablet shell in their stool, and if so, whether it is a cause for concern. The leaflet says it's normal, but I'd like to hear from others who are experiencing the same thing. Any insights or experiences would be greatly appreciated! I want to know if it's a common occurrence or something to keep an eye out for in the future. And while I've read the list of side effects, I also want to know if anyone has had any unexpected mild or severe side effects. The more I know, the better. I think it's important to share our experiences to help each other out.

I had a bit of diarrhea when I first started taking it, but it stopped after a week. Just give your body time to adjust. Oh, and take it with plenty of water to avoid any constipation or diarrhea.

I've had such a hard time finding a solution for kidney stones. This stuff is a life saver though! Just be sure to listen to your body and don't ignore any signs of something being seriously wrong. I'm actually using it as a preventative, I don't want another scary emergency room trip. I'm assuming it's working because I haven't had any issues. I do have to ask though, has anyone had any problems with taking it alongside other medications?

I've been taking this for a while and yes, you might see the tablet shell in your stool. It's normal, don't worry about it.

I've had no issues so far, but I make sure to stay hydrated and monitor my potassium levels regularly. Definitely worth it to prevent those painful kidney stones.

I was worried about the side effects too, but my doctor assured me that they are rare. Just keep an eye out for any unusual symptoms and you should be fine. You should probably report any side effects to the FDA too though.

I noticed some stomach discomfort at first, but it went away after a few days. Just make sure to take it with food to avoid any upset stomach. Also, make sure you drink plenty of water, it really helps.

Be careful with this medication. I had a friend who experienced some serious side effects like severe stomach pain and weakness. It turned out she had high potassium levels. Get regular blood tests if you can.

I experienced some nausea, but it went away after I started taking it with food. Just be patient with your body as it adjusts, it will be okay.

Has anyone tried other medications for kidney stones? I'm curious if there are better alternatives out there.
