I'm curious to hear from anyone who has received Zinc Sulfate 5mg/ml Inj, 5ml through an IV. I've been prescribed this medication due to a zinc deficiency, and I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects. Has anyone else had this injection? What was your experience like? Did you encounter any of the side effects mentioned, such as vein irritation or allergic reactions? Any insights or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I had it once and my vein swelled up a bit. The nurse said it was a common reaction. I was a bit scared but it went away in a few hours. Just keep communication open with your healthcare provider.

I'm just glad it's not an oral med. I can't swallow pills. Sounds rough though.

I’ve seen it used in hospitals for patients on long-term IV nutrition. The key is to make sure the healthcare provider is monitoring the injection site closely. Vein irritation can be a real issue if not managed properly. Good luck with your treatment!

I was on this for a while and had no issues. Make sure you're hydrated before the injection, it helps with the vein irritation.
