I've recently been prescribed Lovaza 1gm Capsules to help lower my very high triglyceride levels. I've read about the potential side effects, especially the urgent ones, and I'm a bit nervous. Has anyone here taken this medication? What was your experience like? Did you encounter any of the mentioned side effects? How did you manage them? I'm particularly interested in hearing from people who have dealt with the urgent side effects, if any. Also, how long did it take for you to see improvements in your triglyceride levels? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm committed to making lifestyle changes along with taking this medication, but I want to be as informed as possible.

I took Lovaza for a while, and while it did help, I found that lifestyle changes made the biggest difference. Cutting out processed foods and sugars, increasing my fiber intake, and exercising regularly really made an impact on my triglyceride levels. Don't rely solely on the medication—your overall health habits matter too.

Oh, Lovaza makes it sooo hard to enjoy my morning coffee. The taste change is real. I’ve started taking probiotics too, to help with the digestive side effects. It’s a bit pricey, but worth it to avoid some of the discomfort. Think about trying it if you’re having issues with digestion.

I had a similar experience, but I also added fish oil supplements to my routine. It seemed to boost the effects of Lovaza and helped keep my triglycerides in check. Just make sure to consult with your doctor before adding anything new to your regimen.

I had a bad reaction to Lovaza. I started experiencing chest tightness and a really fast heartbeat. I thought I was having a heart attack. I got to the hospital, and it turned out to be a severe allergic reaction. I was really scared, but thankfully I’m okay and my doctor switched me to a different medication. Be careful and pay attention to your body while you’re on this.

Been using Lovaza for a few months now, and I definitely see an improvement in my triglyceride levels. It's not a miracle cure, though. I had to change my diet drastically, incorporating more fiber and reducing my carbohydrate intake. But, it's worth it to see those numbers go down. I did experience some mild abdominal discomfort at first, but it went away after a month or so.

Just started Lovaza a few weeks ago. Haven't noticed any major side effects yet, but I'm definitely keeping an eye out for anything weird. Fingers crossed!

Ugh, the change in taste was the worst for me. It was like everything I ate had a fishy aftertaste! I tried taking it with different meals, but it didn't seem to make a difference. I stuck it out for a few months, and my triglycerides did improve, but I couldn't handle the taste anymore. Talk to your doctor about it; they might have other recommendations.
