I've been dealing with chronic constipation for a while now, and my doctor recommended trying Docusate Sodium 100mg Capsules. I'm a bit hesitant because I've never taken a stool softener before. How well does it work? How long does it typically take to start working? Are there any side effects I should be aware of beyond what's listed on the package? I'm also curious to know if anyone has any tips for making the process more comfortable. I've heard it can cause stomach cramps and diarrhea, so I'm a bit worried about that. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

It's weird how something that softens your stool can also make you suffer from diarrhea. I guess it's all about balance.

I've had to use Docusate a few times after surgery. It definitely helped, but I agree with others—it took a few days to see any changes. Stay hydrated!

I've been taking Docusate for a few months now and it's been a game-changer. It doesn't work immediately, but over the course of a few days, it really helps soften things up. I didn't experience any major side effects, just occasional stomach cramps, but that's to be expected. I'd definitely recommend giving it a try if you're struggling with constipation. Make sure to take it with plenty of water and fiber. That's what helped me.

I've been using Docusate for years. It's really helped with my chronic constipation. Just be patient, it doesn't work overnight. Give it a few days and you'll see the difference. Stay hydrated and eat plenty of fiber.

I didn't know stool softeners could cause diarrhea. Guess I'll skip this one.

Hoping the cramps aren't too bad. Might have to give it a shot and see how I do. Wish me luck!
