I've been dealing with psoriasis for a while now, and my doctor recommended Tarsum Shampoo. I've heard mixed reviews about it, especially concerning the side effects. Has anyone else tried it? How did it work for you? I'm particularly concerned about the severe side effects mentioned, like allergic reactions. Did anyone experience any of these, or is it mostly smooth sailing? Also, any tips on how to manage the smell of coal tar? Thanks!

I think the allergic reactions are rare, but I hope the company gets the word out to more people! You never know when it might save someone from a severe reaction.

I switched to a different shampoo because of the smell. It was just too strong for me. I did read that the coal tar is effective, so it's worth a try if you can stand the smell.

Has anyone tried it alongside other treatments? I'm curious if combining it with a topical steroid would be effective. Anyone had any luck with that?

I've had no issues with Tarsum, but I've had to deal with the smell. It's not great, but the relief from itching and flaking is worth it. I just make sure to rinse it out really well.

I've used coal tar shampoos before, and they all have that smell. It's the price we pay for the benefits. Just make sure you don't get any in your nose or eyes—burns like crazy!

I think the key is to use it consistently. I didn't see results right away, but after a few weeks, I noticed a big difference. Stick with it, and you might be pleasantly surprised.
