Has anyone used Dexamethasone Ophthalmic Solution (0.1% Ophthsoln 5ml) for eye irritation? Share your experience!
I recently started using Dexamethasone 0.1% Ophthalmic Solution for some eye irritation I've been experiencing. I wanted to see if anyone else has used this eye drop and how it worked for them. Do these steroids help with irritation effectively? Also, I'm curious about any possible adverse reactions people have encountered. Has anyone had a severe reaction? And if so what did you do? I've heard it can cause blurred vision, but I'm not sure how common that is. My doctor prescribed it for my eye itchiness and redness, especially after being outdoors. Do these symptoms resolve quickly? Does this need to be taken for prolonged periods?

I've had no issues with it, but I use it exactly as prescribed. Once a day, no more, no less. I’ve also spoken with my doctor about the potential side effects, and so far, so good. But I would be wary of itching. It might be time to change medications or go back to see your doctor.
I switched to a different steroid eye drop because this one gave me a severe case of blurred vision. But that cleared up after I stopped using it. I have an appointment with my doctor soon so I can discuss alternatives
I've been using it for a week now, and it's made a huge difference. My eyes feel so much better, and the redness is almost gone.
Why are these steroids so bad to use? My doctor prescribed them and said that the benefit is greater than the side effects
I had a bad experience with this. It seemed to make my eye pain worse, and I had to stop using it. Going to the ER and stopping the medication immediately helped me.
This worked well for me, but only after a few weeks. Don't expect overnight results. Oh, and it stings a bit when you put it in, but that's normal with steroids.
If you're using this for allergies, make sure to also use an antihistamine. It helped me a lot, but the redness and itching came back if I missed a day.
Be careful with this stuff. I tried it for allergic reactions, and it made my eyes feel really dry and irritated. It was tough to handle.
I had a really bad reaction to it. My eyes swelled up and I had trouble breathing. I had to rush to the ER. Worth a call to your doctor to check if an eye scrambler would be a better alternative
I used this for a while after cataract surgery. It helped immensely with the inflammation and redness. No serious side effects here, just a bit of blurriness for a short while
