Has anyone used Mafenide Ace 5% Pack for severe burns? What was your experience like?
I've been looking into Mafenide Ace 5% Pack as a treatment for severe burn infections. It seems to be quite effective in killing bacteria, but the side effects listings are quite lengthy. Has anyone had any experience with this or any advice on managing burn infections?

I have been treating patients with Mafened for over 20 years, and from my experience, it’s a great topical antiseptic. It’s important to remember that it does cause pain but that’s expected behaviour.
Mafenide Ace 5% Pack has serious side effects but it's vital for preventing infection in severe burns. The possible side effects are quite scary but I guess it is worth risking them for the cure.
The acidosis is a real concern. I had a friend who used it and ended up with severe abdominal pain. He had to be hospitalized.
Just remember to report any severe side effects to your doctor right away. Safety first!
I worked in a burn unit, and we used Mafenide Ace quite a bit. It's incredibly effective in preventing infections, but the pain and acidosis can be severe. Make sure you're informed on the acidosis issues.
I had to use it on a patient with extensive burns. The pain management was tough, but we managed to keep the infection at bay. Definitely a necessary tool in the burn care arsenal.
I was hospitalised for a job injury that caused a severe burn a few months back. They used this on me to prevent infection. It was painful, but the pain medication helped a lot.
I heard it can be quite painful to apply. Is that true?
I used it on a burn I got while cooking. It hurt like hell, but it did the trick. No infection, but I did feel quite nauseous for a while.
