I recently got a prescription for Polysporin Ophthalmic Ointment to treat a bacterial eye infection. I've started using it, and while it seems to be helping, I'm a bit concerned about the possible side effects, especially the more serious ones. Has anyone else had experience with this medication? I'd love some insights and tips to help me feel more at ease while using it. It feels daunting because I'm afraid the side effects will be more painful than the infection. How was the most effective way you used it?

Be careful and watch for any signs of an allergic reaction. If you notice any severe symptoms, get to a doctor right away!

I've used it multiple times and never had any issues. It's worked for me every time. Plus, it’s not too expensive, so it's great for tackling minor infections or inflammations.

I was skeptical at first, but it cleared up my infection in no time. Just make sure to keep it out of your mouth and nose and clean the container properly before and after use

I used Polysporin for a similar infection a few years back. It worked great, but I did experience some mild eye irritation. Stick with it and it should clear things up!

I have a friend who had Pink Eye. She used this and had red, swollen eyes for a few days after the symptoms cleared. She said it felt like a burn and she didn’t like it much. Might be because of the antibiotics, but she didn’t get any infections again, that’s for sure.

My mom had a bad reaction to it. Swelling and hives all over her face. Scary stuff. Anyone else have a bad reaction?

There are some say it works, but you should really ask an eye doctor first. We aren’t all the same, and different antibiotics affect us differently.

It worked for me, but I had to use it for about a week. I would recommend having someone apply it for you, because it’s kinda hard to get it in right.
