I've been using HC Pramoxine 2.5-1% Cream [pramoxine/hydrocortisone] for a couple of weeks now. It’s been helpful, but I’m starting to worry about the side effects, especially the really serious ones. Has anyone else had any issues? I’m particularly concerned about the risk of Cushing's syndrome and high blood sugar. Some of the side effects sound really scary. Should I just be patient and wait for it to work, or should I be heading to the doctor right away? What’s everyone’s experience been so far?

I found it really helpful and I didn't experience any side effects. It helped me a lot with the pain and itching. It should be helpful but be careful. If in doubt, consult a doctor. It's better to be safe.

Does it not numb well? I used it and it did a good job with the pain and itching.

I've heard that applying a thin layer and then covering the area with a clean cotton pad can help with the burning sensation. I'd suggest giving that a try. It might make it more tolerable, but definitely discuss it with your doctor if it's still too bad.

I was nervous at first too, but I've been using it for a while now and haven't had any issues. It's actually helped a lot with the itching and pain. I'd say give it a bit more time and see how it goes, but definitely keep an eye out for those serious symptoms. If you do experience anything severe, definitely consult the doctor.

The cream worked well for me but it's always scary to see the list of possible bad reactions. So many risks, but it's always good to take a doctor's advice. I had some dry skin but it was manageable.

I used it for a couple weeks and everything was fine. I'd say just keep an eye on it and if you notice anything bad, see your doctor. Some creams can be tricky, so it's always good to be cautious.

I think the risk of severe side effects is pretty low, but it's definitely there. I had a bad reaction once and it was really scary. I definitely understand why you're worried. I switched to a different cream and had better luck. But I'd say if the irritation gets too much, get an additional opinion from your doctor.

If you're experiencing side effects, maybe try switching to a hydrocortisone cream without the pramoxine.

I had a friend who used this cream and ended up with severe rectal pain. It was scary, so be careful. I switched to a natural remedy instead. Give it another week, but if you notice anything bad, ditch the cream.

I ended up going to my doc after using it for a week. It wasn't working well and I was worried about the side effects. She suggested trying a different treatment. If you're concerned, maybe just switch to something else.
