I've heard that some people have issues with bleeding gums while on Heparin. Anyone else experience this? I'm paranoid about brushing too hard.
I've been on it for months now, and while it's not fun, it's definitely better than dealing with a pulmonary embolism. Just follow your doctor's instructions carefully and don't forget to take it with you if you travel. I made the mistake of leaving my supply at home once and had to rush back.
I had a bad reaction to Heparin once and had to switch to a different anticoagulant. It was scary, but the doctors were able to manage it quickly. Make sure you have your doctor's number and know where the nearest hospital is, just in case.
It's a bit of a pain to deal with, but it's worth it to prevent blood clots. Just follow your doctor's instructions and keep an eye out for any unusual symptoms. You've got this!
I was also on Heparin after a surgery, it's a bit tricky at first but it gets easier.
For the love of god, remeber to rotate the injection sites! I made the mistake of using the same spot for a week and ended up with a nasty hematoma. It hurt like hell and took weeks to heal. Trust me, you don't want to go through that. It’s not something you would want to experience, seriously.
Anyone else have issues with the injections being painful? I'm finding it a bit difficult to deal with.
