I recently started taking Chlorpheniramine 4mg Tabs for my seasonal allergies. I've been dealing with constant sneezing, a runny nose, and watery eyes for weeks, and I was desperate for relief. The medication has definitely helped with the symptoms, but I've experienced some side effects that I wasn't expecting. I know that Chlorpheniramine can make you feel sleepy, but I didn't realize how intense the drowsiness would be. I've been a bit nervous about taking it during the day, as I'm worried that it might affect my productivity. I did some research and found that it's normal for some people to experience this but unfortunately it was not mentioned in the instructions I was given at the pharmacy. I've always wondered how effective antihistamines are compared to other treatments. Has anyone else had a similar experience with Chlorpheniramine or other antihistamines?

I had a scary reaction to Chlorpheniramine once. I developed hives and had trouble breathing. I went to the ER and they told me to never take it again. It's rare, but it can happen. Always be cautious with new medications.

I've had the same issue with drowsiness. I tried taking it before bed and it works well for nighttime allergy relief.

Try to keep track of your symptoms and side effects. I use a journal to note down how I feel each day. It's helpful for discussing with my doctor. This way you can figure out if Chlorpheniramine works for you, or if it does not. You could also check out some allergy medications that do not cause drowsiness. The most important thing is to find what works best for you and your allergies.

I switched to a different antihistamine after feeling really jittery on Chlorpheniramine. It was weird.

I've had no issues with drowsiness but I take it with food. The medication can affect your appetite as well.

I'm glad I found this thread. I was thinking about trying Chlorpheniramine but now I'm not so sure. Maybe I'll stick with my nasal spray for now.

Chlorpheniramine has been a game-changer for me. I barely experience any drowsiness. It's all about finding the right balance. I usually take it before bed and feel refreshed in the morning. Also, I've heard that drinking plenty of water can help mitigate the side effects. If you're still having issues, consider talking to your doctor about switching to a non-drowsy antihistamine, such as loratadine or cetirizine.

I believe that if it works for you, then why not? I know a lot of people who have been taking Chlorpheniramine for years without any issues. Just make sure to report any severe side effects to your doctor or the FDA.

Be careful with the sleepiness. I know someone who took it and ended up falling asleep at work. Maybe try a lower dose or talk to your doctor about alternatives.
