So, I was given a Bicillin C-R 900/300 Inj, 2ml shot for an infection, and the nurse mentioned it's an antibiotic with two types of penicillin that work quickly and then provide long-lasting effect, and that's great. But the side effects list is pretty terrifying. Has anyone else had this shot? Were there any serious side effects? I'm particularly worried about the allergic reactions and kidney problems. Any advice or personal experiences would be super helpful.

I got this shot and had no issues - This is my first time posting here but I had to put in my two cents – I’d actually forgotten about it until I saw this post. Sometimes it’s just a varied experience between patients.

I had this shot a few years ago and didn't experience any serious side effects. Just a bit of soreness at the injection site, but nothing major. You'll probably be fine!

Ask your doc about how long your muscles will be aching. I got mine in my thigh and it's a little ... awkward

I'm an ER nurse, and I've seen a few cases of methemoglobinemia from this med. If you start feeling dizzy or your lips turn blue, get to a doctor ASAP.

I broke out in hives after getting this shot. It was terrifying, but luckily, it wasn't a full-blown allergic reaction. Keep an eye out for any rash or itching.

I'm more worried about the long-term nerve damage. If the medication is injected into or near a nerve, it can cause numbness, tingling, or weakness. Scary stuff.

The diarrhea was the worst part for me. I was fine until a week later and then...I was in the bathroom for ages. It was so bad I almost wish someone had told me what to expect

I had a severe joint pain flare-up after getting this shot. It was awful, but my doctor said it was just a weird reaction and I should expect it to go away. I guess we'll see about that.

I had a friend who had a really bad reaction to this. She ended up in the ER with some sort of skin reaction. I'm glad to see we don’t have that in common.
