So I've just received a prescription for Dopamine/D5W 0.8mg/ml Inj, 500ml. I've been diagnosed with low blood pressure and after a recent incident of organ perfusion issues, my doctor has recommended this medication. I don't know much about it other than it has to be administered intravenously and it can definitely help my heart function better. Quite a bit of side effects list though and I'm worried. The doctor said it should help my blood pressure but I feel overwhelmed by all the possible side effects. I was wondering if anyone here has had experience with Dopamine Infusion? How did it work out for you? What was your experience like? Especially interested in your experience with side effects. Did you have a lot of bad reactions? Has anyone gotten more serious reactions? Any advice would be really appreciated.

It's hard to give good advice without knowing more about your situation. But I can say, from my experience and from what I've seen, it's really important to keep an eye on your blood pressure and your urine output. If you notice anything going downhill, get immediate medical attention.

Has anyone had allergic reactions to this? I've had bad reactions with other drugs before and i'm worried

I had to deal with blisters and itching when I was on an IV 'drip' for a week. My nurse was super attentive, though, and always kept a close eye on it. If you get anything like that, talk to your nurse ASAP!

I was on this for a few days, and I can tell you, the headaches were bad. I couldn't handle it and asked them to switch me to something else. Don't be surprised if you experience other crazy side effects.

I don't know if I'm going to do this. I just started reading about the side effects to this drug and am really scared. If anyone has had a bad experience, I would like to know more about it.

It's a potent drug, no doubt about it. Make sure you're in a medical setting when you start using it—things can get serious really quick. Also, be aware that it can cause some pretty intense reactions at the injection site.

A lot of people experience a bit of anxiety on Dopamine, I had it too. But like any IV drip, you'll get used to it.

I've been on it. The side effects were not fun, but it did help my heart at the time.
