I just got my Typhim Vi 0.5ml Im vaccine today. I'm planning a trip to a region where typhoid fever is common, so my doctor recommended it. I've read about the possible side effects, but I'm curious if anyone else has had this vaccine and can share their experience. Was the injection painful? How long did any side effects last? Any tips for managing them? Also, I noticed that the bottle has 20 doses—is it common to get multiple injections? I feel a bit anxious about all these and want to know what to expect. Let me know if you have any advice or suggestions!

The injection wasn't too bad for me. I felt a bit sore at the injection site for a couple of days, but that was about it. No major side effects

The 20-dose bottle is usually for clinics or doctors to administer to multiple patients. You should only need the 1-2 doses for protection.

I got the Typhim Vi vaccine for my trip to South America last year, and it was recommended I get 2-doses 4 weeks apart. My first dose was more painful than the second. Keep in mind that reactions to vaccines can vary widely from person to person and even vaccination type. Your safest bet is to always consult with your doctor rather than a random stranger on the internet

I had a pretty bad reaction to it. I felt dizzy and had a bit of nausea. Make sure to monitor yourself closely after getting it, I got lucky, but it is quite dangerous

I got the Typhim Vi vaccine last year before traveling to India. I had a bit of a headache the next day, but it was manageable with some over-the-counter pain relievers. I also felt a bit tired, but overall, it was okay. I did get a bit nervous about the allergic reactions, but I made sure to stay close to a medical facility for a day or two just in case. Also, if you are in a big dose scenario, I experienced the second dose as being more painful than the first

I'm a nurse and we've seen numerous reactions to typhoid vaccines over the years. Generally, the most common issues are mild and self-resolving. Acute reactions tend to be rare, but you should still be cautious and follow your doctor's advice to ensure safety
